
Dr. Leong is currently a senior consultant vascular, endovascular surgeon at the Vascular and Endovascular Clinic. Prior to joining the practice, he served as Head of Division of Vascular Surgery for 12 years and Deputy Head of the Department of Surgery at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for the past 6 years.
Dr. Leong obtained his master of medicine and surgery degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He then went on to complete his general surgery training at North Shore University Hospital in New York under the NYU and Albert Einstein College of Medicine residency program and also a vascular surgery fellowship at the same institution.
After completing his fellowship training, Dr. Leong returned to Singapore and founded the vascular surgery unit at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in 2013. During his tenure of over a decade, he grew and developed it into a comprehensive department providing treatment for a wide array of complex vascular pathology to a large population in the North of Singapore.
Dr. Leong’s interest involves the whole spectrum of vascular pathology including complex aortic, peripheral vascular, limb salvage, venous and carotid disease. He is double board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General and Vascular Surgery. He is also an international member of the Society of Vascular Surgery and is a founding member of the Singapore Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons.
He also served as a senior clinical lecturer in both NUS and LKC school of medicine and as a national general surgery board examinations committee member. As the recipient of numerous service champion and best teacher mentor awards, Dr. Leong’s has successfully groomed and mentored many younger residents who have gone on to become successful vascular surgeons. He is committed to providing comprehensive cutting edge vascular care in a compassionate manner to all of his patients.
