At The Vascular and Endovascular Clinic, we offer a complete range of solutions for your spider veins and varicose veins!

Once the faulty truncal vein below the skin is ablated using the latest range of devices such as laser, RFA, microwave, ClariVein, or glue, we can address the smaller and broken veins on the skin surface that may cause you cosmetic concerns. This can be treated using the newest laser (Candela from the Candela Corporation, US) at our Mount Elizabeth Orchard Clinic. No preparation or anaesthetic is required!

How does Candela laser work?

The Candela laser is a popular treatment option for spider veins, also known as telangiectasia. It works by using a concentrated beam of light to target the affected blood vessels. The laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the blood, causing the blood vessel to heat up and collapse. Over time, the collapsed vessel is reabsorbed by the body, leading to its disappearance or significant reduction in appearance.

The Candela laser can be used to treat spider veins on various parts of the body, including the legs, face, and other areas where these veins commonly appear. It is especially effective for smaller blood vessels, such as those found in spider veins.

What to expect with Candela?

The number of rounds of Candela laser treatment required for spider veins can vary depending on the individual and the severity of the condition. Typically, multiple sessions are needed to achieve optimal results. Most people undergo an average of 2-4 sessions, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.

After the procedure, some common post-treatment effects may include redness, swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort in the treated area. These are usually temporary and subside within a few days to a couple of weeks. Special Repair cream will be prescribed to ensure proper healing post-procedure.
