The Candela GMAX laser is used to treat thread veins and telangiectasias, which are the deeper green veins under the surface of the skin on the legs, The laser emits a focused beam of light that targets the pigmented thread veins, heating them up and causing them to collapse. The body then absorbs the treated veins, reducing their appearance.
The Candela GMAX is particularly effective for treating thread veins due to its:
- Dual-wavelength capability (Nd:YAG and Alexandrite)
- Long pulse duration
- Cooling system for increased comfort
This allows for precise targeting of the thread veins, minimizing damage to surrounding skin. Treatment is typically quick, with minimal downtime. There are no needles involved and the only thing you may need is some local anaesthetic cream 30 minutes before the treatment.
Depending on the extent and severity of your thread and spider veins you may need 2-3 treatment sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. The only thing we ask is that you don’t expose the area treated to direct sunlight for the next 2 weeks!
